The Noise Correction and Control Plan
The purpose of drafting the Correction Plan (PCAR) is to define and plan the works necessary for reaching the noise mitigation goals laid down in the other sections; the scope of the Plan is all residential and sensitive receptors, identified as “critical” in the pertinent acoustic band.
To attain these objectives, provision is made for building noise-abatement barriers, total covers (roofing solutions), open-top barriers (baffles) and works to buildings (noise reduction fixtures and fittings).
The sizing of the noise abatement works given in the Plan is the result of a preliminary study aimed only at defining works priorities, planning the works and defining the financial plan of Autostrade per l’Italia. In the future roll-out phase (15 years) the detailed designs will be produced that may result in different solutions being adopted to those laid out in today’s PCAR.
To facilitate communication with the public, Autostrade per l’Italia hase created an innovative 3D system for showing the results obtained from the works of receptors classification, information gathering, critical-areas identification and works planning.
From the Plan in your municipality section you can download a file to see the 3D view in Google Earth mode of both the “Critical Areas” and “Correction Plan” areas: i.e. you can ‘fly’ over the areas in a virtual world.
In the scene Critical Area, with different colours are shown the location uses (residential, nomn-residential and sensitive) and any exceeding of the limits of law of the buildings found in the acoustic bands relevant to Autostrade per l’Italia. Also, the scenario devoted to the Improvement Plan shows the noise mitigation works as barriers, baffles and covers, and the use of silent structures, through which the correction goal is achieved. The complete and detailed data can be seen in both printed and digital format at all of the relevant regional and municipal administrations.
