North

Temporary improving but with variable cloudiness all over the sector, except for snowfall in the plans and Apennine in the Emilia Romagna extending in the Triveneto during the night.

Center

Spread snowfalls all over the sector until the plans and coast, showers in the southern Lazio. Moderate snowfalls in the Lazio and strong in the internal Abruzzo.

South

Spread showers and rains all over the sector, locally moderate and strong in the Sardinia and Campania. Snowfalls in the Molise and Basilicata.

Temperatures

Generally decrease, minimum in slight increase in the Lazio and spread frost in the morning, strong in the North West, moderate in the rest of the North.

Europe Situation

High pressure over the Azores combines with the high pressure in the Russia making a large high pressure field from the Atlantic until the Northern Russia trough the northern Europe. Maximum pressure values around 1050 mb over the Europear northern Russia. Vortex in the North of the Tunisia with 1004 mb drwas cold air from the East allowing a worsening with rains and snowfall in the lower layers over the Central Mediterranean Sea and very cold temperatures in the Eastern Europe.

Italy Situation

Large cyclonic circulation is interesting the Italy, with pressure minimum 1004 mb near the North of the Tunisa. Over the Italy pressure between 1004 mb in the Sardinia and 1024 in the Friuli. Thus eastern flows over the Peninsula, bringing very cold continental air mass, with is interacting with mild air allows a strong weather worsening with snow in the lower layers.

Evolution

Friday 3: Very cold core in the upper atmosphere over the Russia broadens reaching the Central Northern Italy and allowing a very strong thermal decrease. Over the Peninsula is expected a new weather worsening in the Central Regions, gradually extendint in the South during the second part of the day.

Saturday 4: Still trough in the Central Southern Europe with a very cold core and a pressure minimum on the ground over the Southern Italy. Unsettled condition and snowfall all over the Country, rains in the most southern regions.

Sunday 5: High pressure allows the blocking of circulation and for the western depression but allow still a weather worsening for a trough in the upper air because of cold mass air from the Scandinavia until the Central Mediterranean Sea.

Trend

Monday 6: Temporary improving in the Po Plans with variable cloudiness but still snowfall in the adriatic side until the central Apulia, across the Apennine; spread squall in the ionian side and Islands. Strong northern winds and very low temperatures.

Tuesday 7: Still bad weather all over the Italy with snowfall until the plans all over the Central North regions; snow in the Sout, too, until the lower layers over the Central Northern Apulia, Molise, Basilicata, Campania. Spread rains over the Islands, Salento and Calabria. Moderate and strong winds from the North. Temperatures stationary.
